My husband my 3 kids our dog and myself might be PCSing to Fort Campbell the end of July or early August. Our BAH will be about $1500 and we need atleast a 4 bedroom house and we want to be in Clarksville. Can any one recommend the BEST schools in Clarksville? Thanks!
My husband I and our three dogs may be getting stationed to Fort Campbell KY. I have been doing some research on the area but have found little information. Can anyone tell me what the best neighborhoods off post are to live in? Are there homes for rent that allow pets that dont cost over $1000 in rent? What is it like to live in KY? We live in AZ right now so Im thinking its going to be quite a change for us. What is there to do around fort campbell and its surrounding areas? Any help and information would be greatly appreciated! Thank You!
Danette asks:
does anyone know how long the wait list is for housing? (E5 1 child) and what areas are good to live in off post and what's bad? Also our daughter will be 4 when we pcs- do the schools offer preschool? Thank You in advance for any info!
We are moving to Ft. Campbell in July and need to know the best high school and middle school to attened. I looked at great schools and am not impressed with the test scores for any of them. Anywhere thats with in a 30 min drive from Campbell would be fine. Also anyone know about travel soccer clubs in the area? The best I'v found is in Brentwood and Nashville. Where are the nicer areas to live in?
Whitney H. says: We've been at Fort Campbell KY for almost 3 years now and we didn't care for it at first only because of the humidity but now we love it. It grows on you. There is LOTS to do within 3 hours of the post. =] Fort Campbell does deploy ALOT but that is bound to come with the Army life :) Needless to say I am happy with Fort Campbell and sad to leave.
Mindy H. says: Loved Fort Campbell. It's a lot of deployments but very family friendly and Nashville is about 45 minutes to an hour away. We were at Campbell for 11 years and LOVED it.
Rosanna W. says: Pro's for Campbell (in KY) that it's a great family ba
Mindy T. says: We were at Ft. Campbell for 11 years and we loved it! Now we are at Ft. Stewart and we both really dislike it a lot! I would give anything to go back to Ft. Campbell.
Oh Fort Campbell KY/TN.....I lived here a total of 7 yrs between two different PCS's....I'd have lived here forever....we were in in both the 101st and 5th SFG. I loved it....I love the area I love the seasons I owned three homes there both in TN and KY....but I have family in the area which makes it more attractive and now some of my closest friends have PCS'd there....they are not very fond of it....but for me if it were not for my fondness of Dallas/Fort Worth Area I'd retire there.....and Fort Cambell is a great ba
Kimberly D says: USA Army. 1999-2007 and 2011-current. Fort Campbell is an amazing post. It's big and very easy to navigate. It's being built up daily it seems. Offers a huge PX and soon to be new Commissary. They are very family oriented and provide an abundance of activities many of which are free to Soldiers and their dependents. The towns around us are very supportive for the most part. The MWR and Travel Leisure are amazing in providing us with up to date information on activities. You can go any direction and have something to do. I will say Clarksville the town right outside post needs to provide more teen/young kids things to do but if you go an hour South or North there is plenty. I love this place!.....................
